Visa Requirements for Studying in Denmark (Student Visa – Residence Permit)

1. Letter of Admission

    • Living Costs: DKK 7,800 per month (~EUR 1,050 or USD 1,100)
    • Tuition Fees: Proof of payment or the ability to pay the tuition fees.

Documents accepted:

  • Bank statements (last 3–6 months)
  • Proof of scholarship, financial aid, or sponsorship
  • Letter of financial support from family or guardians

  • You need to have health insurance coverage for the duration of your stay. This can be arranged through Danish health insurance providers or through your university if they offer coverage.

  • Provide copies of your academic qualifications and transcripts.

8. Visa Fee

  • The visa application fee is approximately DKK 3,000 (~EUR 400 or USD 450).

9. Proof of Accommodation

  • You must provide proof of accommodation arrangements in Denmark, such as a lease agreement or university housing confirmation.

10. Biometrics

  • You may be required to submit biometric data (fingerprints and photo) as part of the visa process.

11. Health Check (if required)

  • Some students may need to undergo a health examination depending on their country of origin or visa application specifics.

12. Visa Processing Time

  • The processing time for a Danish student visa typically ranges from 1 to 3 months, depending on the completeness of your application and the processing workload.

13. Work While Studying

  • As a student in Denmark, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and full-time during breaks.

14. Residence Permit (After Graduation)

  • After completing your studies, you can apply for a Post-Graduation Residence Permit to look for work in Denmark. This permit is generally valid for up to 6 months.
